Procto-glyvenol works in many directions. Tribenoside is responsible for the analgesic, antipruritic, anti-swelling and anti-inflammatory effects. In contrast, the effect of local anesthesia is caused by lidocaine. Cream against hemorrhoids can be used in adults and after 4 months of pregnancy and during lactation.
Active substances :tribenoside (Tribenosidum) and lidocaine hydrochloride (Lidocaini hydrochloridum).
Warnings and Precautions
Procto-Glyvenol contains cetyl alcohol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate, which may cause a local skin reaction.
Before starting, caution should be exercised in patients with impaired liver function.
In addition to the treatment of haemorrhoids with Procto-Glyvenol, it is recommended to maintain proper hygiene of the anus, use appropriate physical exercise and use an appropriate diet to maintain a sufficiently soft stool consistency.
The drug must not be taken orally.
Avoid contact with the eyes.
Do not store above 30oC.
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Procto-Glyvenol rectal cream should not be used during the first 3 months of pregnancy.
Procto-Glyvenol rectal cream can be used from the 4th month of pregnancy and during breastfeeding, provided that the recommended doses are not exceeded.
Dosage
The cream is applied rectally. Wash your hands thoroughly after each use of the medicine. For the treatment of internal haemorrhoids, the cream should be applied with the enclosed applicator, which should be screwed onto the thread of the tube. The applicator is equipped with a protective cap. It should be removed before using the cream and put back in place after application.
Procto-Glyvenol is used in the morning and evening until the acute symptoms subside. Thereafter, the dose can be reduced to 1 application of the cream daily.
If after 7 days of use there is no improvement or other symptoms appear, you should contact your doctor to rule out other potential causes of these ailments.
